Unlike some of the reviewers above, I have had few problems with this device. I wanted to share two printers in a mixed Windows/Mac environment, and this has been just the ticket. A few thoughts after my experience:
* The server works best if you assign it a static IP address. I found that sometimes my router apparently did not respond quickly enough to the DHCP request and the device self-assigned an address, which made it unreachable.
* On Windows XP you MUST allow the New Hardware Wizard to complete before the server will be visable. Just because you installed the software does not mean the driver is registered. (Ah, score another for the Mac -- installation on OS X 10.3.9 took less than a minute plus a reboot).
* Some printers don't work very well with the auto-connect setting. Your mileage may vary.
* Software version 1.3.1 incorrectly makes "root" the owner of the preference file /Library/Preferences/com.keyspan.NHCI.plist, which prevents you from setting auto-connect. Change owner or permissions to allow auto-connect settings to "stick".
* As noted above, Keyspan/INOSYS is quite unresponsive to problems (deduct one star).
There are very few USB servers that are bi-directional. This is one. It works.
